“I think that it would be a smart move, based on where we are in that space right now, that we decriminalize small amounts of marijuana. I don’t think that needs to be criminal at this point,” Rodric Bray, a Republican and Indiana’s Senate Pro Tempore, told the Indiana Lawyer.
“Maybe it’s an infraction or something like that, because people are obviously buying it legally in other parts of the country [and] can’t possess it when you come back here. But should that be a jailable offense at this point? Maybe not.”
Bray added that Indiana can’t exist in a “vacuum,” and said that more than 30 states have legalized cannabis including neighbors.

Florida’s Senate passed SB438, a bill that would ban all Delta-8 THC products and limit hemp-derived Delta-9 THC products to no more than 5 mg per serving. Last year, Gov. Ron DeSantis vetoed similar legislation — and he teamed up with the state’s hemp industry to fight against Amendment 3, a bill that would’ve legalized cannabis in the Sunshine State. Read more.
DEA says rescheduling process still on hold 🤔
The DEA told a judge that the process to reclassify cannabis from the most restrictive Schedule I to the less restrictive Schedule III is still on hold — and there are no future actions planned. The process was supposed to kick off with hearings in January, but now seems delayed indefinitely. It’s unclear whether President Trump or the DEA’s Acting Administrator, Derek Maltz, will push to restart the hearings.
Pennsylvania’s state-run dispensary plan would violate federal law 👀
Pennsylvania’s proposed plan to sell cannabis via state-run outlets, similar to liquor, may violate federal law, according to an analysis from the Pennsylvania Cannabis Coalition (PCC). We should note that the PCC is composed of multiple cannabis firms already operating in the state’s medical industry.
600 pounds of pot stolen from Colorado police parking lot 🚨
Robbers stole 600 pounds of confiscated cannabis from a Colorado State Patrol evidence storage lot in Arapahoe County, the Colorado Sun reports.
