📣 Quotable

“...From personal experience, we both know that Trump is willing to take bold and compassionate action. His recent support for cannabis rescheduling, banking reform and clemency underscores his understanding of what’s at stake — for the economy, for justice and for the thousands of families torn apart by outdated cannabis laws…”

Excerpt from a Fox News’ Opinion piece written by Mike Tyson and Weldon Angelos calling on President Trump to deliver on cannabis reform promises.

🤝 Deals, launches, partnerships

DoorDash partners with BRĒZ 🤝

Cannabis beverage brand BRĒZ will now be available via DoorDash in select markets, the company said. It’s DoorDash’s latest push into the intoxicating hemp market. DoorDash announced earlier this month that it would allow hemp-derived cannabis products on its platform.

Cannabis Reform in the Second Trump Administration

What might the second Trump Administration hold for cannabis banking?

Join us today at 3pm Eastern for a free webinar presented by our partners at Shield Compliance and the Association for Cannabis Banking.

The webinar features Tony Repanich, CEO of Shield Compliance, Natalie Fertig the federal cannabis reporter at POLITICO, and our very own Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Berke.

Together, they’ll delve into cannabis reform in 2025, what to expect on the rescheduling front, and steps bankers should take now to ensure they are positioned competitively.

Quick hits

South Carolina representative Nancy Mace eyeing governor’s race? 👀

Cannabis advocate US Representative Nancy Mace is interested in the Governor’s mansion in South Carolina. If successful, this may signal the loss of a rare, vocal, Republican supporter of cannabis reform in the US House.

Even in deep Red Indiana, cannabis can bridge political divides 🤝

In Indiana, a bipartisan (but relatively small) group of legislators agree on building a cannabis program in the Hoosier State. The reality that Indiana misses out on some sweet, sweet tax dollars is taking hold as neighboring Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois have all legalized.

Reality hitting Michigan market 🤕

The Lansing City Pulse outlined why 2025 will be a very challenging year for the cannabis industry in Michigan. If this sounds familiar to you as a Cultivated reader, that’s because we had this last week: Big market, small margins: How MI’s cannabis industry is evolving.

Silk Road founder pardoned 🆓

President Trump pardoned Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht on Wednesday. For those that don’t remember what Silk Road was, there’s a good documentary. This is a nod to Trump-supporting Libertarians.

🏃‍♀️ People moves

The Maryland Cannabis Administration is about to get a new Director. Governor Wes Moore announced the appointment of Tabatha Robinson to replace Will Tilburg. If Robinson’s name sounds familiar, that’s because she currently serves as the executive deputy director of economic development and the acting chief equity officer for the New York State Office of Cannabis Management.

😜 One fun thing

New Hampshire is the lone New England state not yet legal — but the issue comes up a lot. Like this week in Manchester, New Hampshire. Where this headline popped into our cannabis news feed: School vouchers, marijuana, and porn: A trio of topics discussed at Chamber luncheon. Most interesting Chamber of Commerce lunch ever!
